Achieving a Notable First at U.S. Department of State
Buchanan & Edwards designed, developed and deployed the first cloud-production application for the U.S. Department of State. The foreign affairs career website—developed for the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Organization Affairs (IO)—is a clearinghouse for those seeking domestic and overseas opportunities with the United Nations.
The project included migrating an existing SharePoint application serving 10,000 users to a modern environment capable of scaling in size, complexity and customer reach. Operating on the Microsoft Azure cloud, the IO careers website now serves more than 20,000 users and provides a reliable and secure hosting environment with extremely low operational costs. In addition, the IO careers cloud-based infrastructure allows for updates in hours versus days and week
